A Taste of Something Different: Whiskey, Cognac and More!

With a name like Rootstock and Vine, many newcomers may think that we’re only in wine. While it’s true that we do specialize in wine with biodynamically grown grapes (not treated with pesticides, don’t contain chemicals like many wines do), there’s a lot more to offer than just wine! Our bartenders are expert mixologists and love creating new cocktails with seasonal flavors. One of our bartenders, Dave, was recently featured in an article for his love of created cocktails!

Once a month, we host a tasting event for anyone interested in exploring different types of liquor in partnership with the Metro Atlanta Scotch Club. The MASC doesn’t require initiation fees or dues, and they actively seek new members who want to learn about whisky and share their knowledge with fellow whisky lovers. As their site says, “As the journey is a never-ending one, let’s travel that road together and have fun in the process!” And we couldn’t agree more!

December Partnership Event: Cognac & Armagnac Tasting

This month, join us as we get an introduction to cognac and armagnac! Since the Renaissance, France has had strict regulations on the varieties of grapes, size of eligible harvest, and growing areas from which specific brandies/cognacs may be produced. Cognac is a versatile spirit and can be enjoyed in many different ways: alone or with friends, before, during or after dinner or even mixed into cocktails.

On Wednesday, December 12th, we welcome our special guest, Erika Turchin Rickenbacker, Remy Martin Brand Ambassador, as we explore a range of cognacs and armagnacs. Guests will delight in small plates prepared by our Executive Chef Todd Webster that will be expertly paired to each drink.
