Hunter’s writing style is something all his own as he blends styles of Country, Folk, & Bluegrass to create a sound that places him in the genre of Americana. His influences range from Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell, & American Aquarium to The Band, Townes Van Zant, & Many more.
Hunter started his career as the front man for southern soul-rock band Whiskey Dixie in 2014. There came a time in late 2018 where Hunter felt pulled in a new direction so strongly it could no longer be prolonged. He along with company of former band-mate Austin Harper & a handful of brand new sawngs, went solo and started touring the southeast & mid-west as Hunter Blalock & The Sad Machine. During these past few years Hunter has enjoyed seeing the country and sharing stages with some of the scenes most respected artists such as Arlo Mckinley, Town Mountain, Caleb Caudle, & Abe Partridge.
