Ch-ch-changes: A Look Back on 2020

It’s officially December of the longest year in collective memory for many. For the team here at Rootstock, we can say with certainty that we’re very grateful for the support of the community in what’s been one of the hardest years for the restaurant industry.

In March, we began our close monitoring of the Coronavirus and the cleanliness of our restaurant and health of our team members. We didn’t know what to expect then, but we knew that we’re privileged to serve this wonderful community and that we appreciate your continued support. This year tossed us some tough curve balls, but we’re beyond thankful that with some creative thinking and hard work, we’re proud to keep serving Woodstock and the surrounding community. Here’s a quick look at some of the changes from the year.

New Lunch Menu Offerings

Back in the spring, we added new ways to offer the delicious tastes of Rootstock! New sandwich and side items were the perfect way to get your Rootstock fix in a flash.

New additions included a Beef and Cheddar, Muffuletta, and a Turkey and Brie sandwich. Missed out back in the spring? These delicious additions are still part of our weekend menu!

Curbside, Takeout and Delivery⁣

Around the same time as our Lunch Menu launch, our team was hard at work putting together new solutions to allow our guests to enjoy food and wine in the comfort of your own home. We introduced a way to offer our menu online for to-go and delivery orders, and the best part? We were able to include wine with our orders! We were thrilled to offer our customers a selection of red and white wine by the glass and/or the bottle.

Our team got creative and came up with a new way to enjoy date night with a Three-Course Meal and Bottle of Wine, and guests could select a choice of a bottle of wine, delivered with commemorative wine glasses and a re-useable cooler. We also knew that exhausted parents everywhere were working extra hard, and our Mommy Survival Kit and Dad’s Got This to-go packs were also incredibly successful, and we thank everyone for placing their orders!

Customers also had the ability to celebrate an Easter meal with us as we offered curbside Easter menus for families of two and four.

Rebrand + New Look

Our expansion comes with a rebrand, which many of our loyal customers noticed when we began the rollout slowly back in the spring.  We were thrilled to work with local branding and design expert Tom Cox, who helped us create a new look for Rootstock with colors, fonts and direction that felt warm, inviting and authentic. We hope that these are just a few things that are evident to visitors when they dine and celebrate with us, and look forward to many more celebrations after the new year and in the months and years to come.

Growth and Expansion

At our third birthday party, we announced our growth and expansion for Rootstock, which will include a new building with two levels. The upper level will be an indoor/outdoor space with a full bar and large, bright windows. The downstairs will extend our current kitchen for Executive Chef AJ and her team, tripling the size and supporting our organic growth from wine and tapas to offering a much more expansive menu with entrees, brunch, and regular weekly specials.

Come celebrate the end of 2020 and welcome a brand new year and new season of Rootstock! Our New Year’s Eve celebration will feature the talented songs from opera singer Myka Murphy plus five incredible courses paired perfectly with selected wines. Join us for an unforgettable Night at the Opera as Myka serenades guests as they wine and dine, with a different song pairing to match each course.

We look forward to more gathering, more celebrating, and more Rootstock! We wish you the happiest of holidays from our entire team. Cheers!
