What’s a Silent Disco?
A silent disco (also known as a silent rave) is where people dance to music listened to via wireless headphones. Rather than using a speaker system, music is broadcasted via a radio transmitter with the signal being picked up by the special wireless headphone receivers worn by participants. No headphones, no music!
True to Our Roots: Supporting Causes and Cures
Tanner’s Silent Disco is an event that we’re putting on to raise awareness and funds for The International Foundation for CDKL5 Research.
CDKL5 deficiency disorder is a rare neurodevelopmental disease caused by mutations in the CDKL5 gene which can manifest in a broad range of clinical symptoms and severity, though the hallmarks are early-onset, intractable epilepsy and neurodevelopmental delay impacting cognitive, motor, speech and visual function.
For the team at Rootstock and Vine, Tanner’s Silent Disco is one of the many ways we stay true to our roots and stay involved in important, local organizations that help make a difference in the community.
Tanner’s Silent Disco Deets
We’re thrilled to host Tanner’s Silent Disco (the first silent disco offered in Woodstock!) here at Rootstock and Vine! Officially kicking off at 7:00pm, here are a few more details:
- Drink Specials all night
- No ticket required, but
- $10 optional headphone rentals from Sound Off (full rental fee goes towards our cause)
- 3 different music stations
- Raffle prizes
The City of Woodstock has allowed us to use the grassy area outside of our restaurant in addition to the rooftop and side patio, so all participants will have the opportunity to enjoy three outdoor areas during the event!
Each participant has control over their own experience and access to multiple channels of audio, so it’s the perfect solution for a diverse group or large venue.
Our special cocktail of the evening will be Tanner’s Tea, a whiskey-based tea that’s as sweet as Tanner himself. Tanner’s Dad is a regular here at Rootstock and Vine, and a bourbon lover, and this is the perfect cocktail to toast to Tanner!
To extend our donation to the cause, Tanner’s Tea will be our featured cocktail for the entire month of August, and a portion of the proceeds for drinks ordered all month long will go toward the cause. (And proceeds from the drinks ordered on the night of our silent disco event will be doubled!)
A Toast to Tanner
