Celebrate the Luck of the Irish with St. Patrick’s Day on Rootstock and Vine’s Patio!

Begorra, it’s a rooftop patio! Rootstock & Vine is about to become your favorite place to celebrate that Irish heritage (or pretend you have some!). St. Patrick’s Day is everyone’s best “excuse” to drink all day and party like the snakes have been driven out of town. And this year St. Paddy’s falls on a weekend so you can get started early with brunch and just keep going. To put it simply: If you don’t think you’ve seen a leprechaun by the end of the night, you’re doing it wrong!

Vintner’s Rooftop, Rootstock & Vine’s unique, beautiful rooftop patio, will be open on Sunday, March 17, for St. Paddy’s, giving you 360-degree views of downtown Woodstock. No other place in Woodstock puts you this high above the rest… and with a full bar too! Don’t worry though, if whiskey or Guinness isn’t your thing, you can stick to our famous, organic wines — plus we hear there might be some Irish dancing on the lineup for all of you just itching to do the jig! But be careful! As James Joyce wrote, “First we feel. Then we fall.”

A Special St. Patrick’s Musical Event

St. Patrick’s Day would not be the same without wine, friends, and great Irish music, and as such, we’ll have a special guest on March 17th!

We’re pleased to welcome the duo Seamus O’Jams with Donal McCall for a program of Irish Pub Songs, starting up on the rooftop at 6:30pm. Seamus, with ancestral history from the County Roscommon, (MI), will bring guitars and mandolins to accompany himself on vocals of your favorite Irish songs.

Donal, an accomplished guitarist and vocalist himself, sings harmony and adds signature guitar riffs to the mix. The two musician/singers have performed hundreds of shows. Don’t miss out on this very special evening of Wine, Irish Song, and Craic. (That’s Irish for a great party with friends!) Want a sneak peek of their performance? Click here

Georgia’s Historic Ties to St. Patrick’s Day

Did you know? Georgia has historic ties to St. Patrick’s Day in a way that most states can’t claim. Over 1 million visitors travel to Savannah each year for one of the largest St. Paddy’s celebrations in the world. Turns out, many Irish immigrants settled in our beautiful state, finding the Georgia coast to be their promised land. But did you know that one brave group of Irish settlers decided the coast wasn’t for them and kept trekking all the way to North Georgia and the promise of these beautiful mountains? It’s a little-known piece of history that after several days of travel and being full of whiskey, the Irish pioneers decided that Woodstock, Georgia was far enough north for their liking and they settled in what is now the downtown site of the historic Vintner’s Rooftop…or something like that, right?

If you aren’t able to make it to our special St. Patrick’s Day celebration, you can still celebrate with us during our Irish Whiskey Tasting on Wednesday, March 13th. We are featuring some of the finest Irish whiskey around and as always, our great friend Jack Smith of Metro Atlanta Scotch Club will be hosting to enlighten us on that we enjoy! (Interested? Grab those tickets here.)

Come party with us and have the best St. Patrick’s Day celebration this side of the Blarney Stone. Experience your luckiest St. Patrick’s Day ever by spending it with us at Rootstock & Vine!

Shamrocks not required, but certainly encouraged.
